The Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA) are administered to prospective educators who want to become certified to work in the Arizona public schools. There are strict guidelines for the administration of an AEPA test.

On the day of the examination, be sure to bring your admission ticket, which includes your AEPA test selection, date, site location, and reporting time. Verify that this information is correct when you receive the ticket. Be on time for the exam; late arrivals receive no extra time at the end of the session. Likewise, there is no refund for those who fail to attend their AEPA test. If there is any chance that you will not be able to attend your scheduled exam, you should reschedule your test within the exam guidelines and the permitted period.

Besides your admission ticket, be sure to bring several sharpened #2 pencils and two pieces of identification. Both pieces of identification must be current and issued by legitimate governmental authorities, and at least one identifying document must include a recent photograph and your signature. Your thumbprint will be taken for identification purposes at the AEPA test site. The thumbprint will not be used for any other purpose by the AEPA test administrator.

There is no smoking in the AEPA test area, and visitors are prohibited from entering the site where testing is conducted. In addition, the following items are not allowed: weapons, cell phones, calculators, electronic devices, handwritten or printed materials, food or drink (except for transparent water bottles), packages or purses, slide rules, rulers, and highlighters. Scientific calculators will be provided for the Chemistry, Mathematics, Middle Grades Mathematics, and Physics examinations. Directions for the calculators will not be given at the AEPA test site, so you should familiarize yourself in advance with the operations of these devices.
