TExES 176 Business Education 6-12 Exam Review

The TExES 176 Business Education 6-12 exam is a comprehensive and challenging assessment for men and women who want to teach middle and high school business in the state of Texas. The exam is aligned with the curriculum described by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The content of the examination is separated into five domains: accounting, finance, and economics (17% of the exam); business management (17%); ethics, law, business communication, and international business (22%); technology and information systems (27%); and leadership and career development (17%).

The technology and information systems domain covers the following topics: business management, operations, and ownership; business law and ethics; international business; e-commerce; business computer information systems; and business communications and interpersonal, employment, and organizational skills in business environments. The leadership and career development domain of the TExES 176 Business Education 6-12 exam covers the following topics: principles and methods related to work-based learning, career development, and the leadership opportunities available through related student organization activities. This domain also addresses business communications and interpersonal, employment, and organizational skills in business environments, as well as how to work with others in the school and community and with industry representatives to support the business education program.
