CSET American Sign Language Practice Test
The California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) program is a set of examinations for prospective K-12 teachers who wish to be certified in various subjects. The CSET American Sign Language test is comprised of a total of 78 multiple choice questions and 8 constructed-response or essay-type questions. Your knowledge base on the CSET American Sign Language practice questions will be tested using 3 subtests. CSET American Language test #186 practice test will consist of 10 multiple choice questions on Literary and Cultural Texts and Traditions, 20 multiple choice questions on Cultural Analysis and Comparisons, 1 short (focused) question and 1 longer question.
CSET American Sign Language test #187 test consists of 10 multiple choice questions on General Linguistics, 20 multiple choice questions on Linguistics of the Target Language—American Sign Language (Language Structures; Contrastive Analysis; Sociolinguistics and Pragmatic) and 2 short essay questions on the latter topic. The third subtest, CSET American Sign Language test #188 test, will test you with 18 multiple choice questions and one short essay question on Language and Communication: Receptive Comprehension, 1 short essay question on Linguistics of the Target Language—American Sign Language (Error Analysis), and 2 short essays on Language and Communication: Expressive Production.
The CSET American Sign Language practice test will give you the confidence to pass this test. You will be allowed 1 hour and 30 minutes for CSET test #186, 1 hour and 15 minutes for CSET test #187, and 2 hours and 15 minutes for CSET test #188. Your test time does not include the time for signing the nondisclosure agreement or taking the tutorial. Test times do not account for breaks. We recommend that you wear professional attire in solid colors to the testing, but avoid black, red, or white clothing. Some of your responses will be video-recorded and you will want the scorer to see your signs accurately, so stay away from clothing with prints or stripes. You will want the best background possible for the recorded sections. CSET test #186 and CSET test #188 are administered in an individualized setting. You will get a phone call to schedule these sections after you register. If you need a sign language interpreter for the day of the test, you must complete an Alternative Testing Arangements Request form for Computer-Based Testing. You will need a score of 220 on each subtest to pass the examination.
