GACE Early Childhood Education Practice Test

The GACE Early Childhood Education Assessment is a test designed for men and women desiring to teach children, grades P-5, in the state of Georgia. This test is computer-based in format and assesses the skills necessary for teaching all academic subjects in these grade levels. The assessment consists of 2 different tests, which may be taken individually or together on the same day.
2.5 hours are given to complete both Test I and Test II, with 30 minutes built in to each test for computer tutorials. Both tests assess not only the basic knowledge needed to teach young students, but also the application of this knowledge. Both tests are made up of 75 selected-response questions, such as matching, multiple choice and/or true-false questions. Test I also contains 2 constructed-response questions, such as fill-in-the-blank, short answer and essay. Other selected-response questions may appear in either test. These questions are not included in the actual test scoring, but are used to determine test-taker performance.
Test I is divided into 3 subparts: Reading and Language Arts, which is worth 50% of the total score, Social Studies, which is worth 25% of the total score and Analysis (Constructed-Response only), which is worth 25% of the total score.
Test II is also divided into 3 subareas: Mathematics, which is worth 53% of the total score, Science, which is worth 30% of the total test score and Health Education, Physical Education and the Arts, which is worth 17% of the total test score.
Testing windows are offered all throughout the year. Test results are available approximately 2 weeks after specific test dates.
