What Can I and Can I Not Bring to NYSTCE’s Early Education Exam?

Participants in the NYSTCE Multi Subject: Teachers of Early Childhood must bring with them one piece of up-to-date, government-issued identification in the name in which they registered, including a photograph and signature. This can include a driver’s license, passport, military identification or state identification.

A standard, four-function calculator will be provided on the screen during the computer-administered version of the exam. Participants will not be permitted to bring in their own, separate calculator.

Participants are not allowed to bring cell phones, handwritten or printed materials, backpacks, hats or headwear, food or drink, aids like rulers or highlighters or unauthorized medical devices to the exam.

When Will I Receive My Score for the Multi Subject: Teachers of Early Childhood Exam Administered by NYSTCE?

For parts one and two of the NYSTCE Multi Subject: Teachers of Early Childhood, participants can access their score reports online on a predesignated date depending on when they take their exam. This is usually within two to six weeks following their exam date.

For part three of the exam, participants will receive preliminary results at the conclusion of their testing appointment. Their full score report will then be accessible online, usually within two to six weeks of their exam date.

Participants need to score a 520 on each section of the exam to pass them and they must pass all three sections in order to receive certification.
