Study Guide

Prospective teachers who wish to be certified in Health Science will want to take the CSET Health Science practice test as a means for studying for the exam. The CSET Health Science practice questions are similar to those you can expect to see on the actual CSET Health Science examination for certification.

The test is broken down into 3 subtests.

CSET Health Science subtest #178 will include 40 multiple choice questions, 1 extended response question, and 1 short, focused question.

CSET Health Science subtest #179 expands upon your skills and knowledge by testing you on the topics of Nutrition and Fitness, Mental and Emotional Health, and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs with another 40 multiple choice questions, an extended response question, and a short, focused question.

CSET Health Science subtest #180 is the final section of the examination. It asks 40 multiple choice questions on the topic of Family Life and Interpersonal Relationships, Consumer and Community Health, and Environmental Health. The final section will also expect you to answer 1 short, focused question. You will need to register for the examination and prepare to take your test at an official testing site.

The CSET Health Science practice questions will help you score a passing grade of 220 on each of the three subtests. The computer based testing program gives you 1 hour and 45 minutes for CSET Health Science subtest numbers #178 and 179. You will only have 1 hour and 15 minutes to take CSET Health Science subtest #180.

If you’d prefer, you can take all three subtests at once. If you choose this option, the computer based program will allow you 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete the test. If you need a break, it’s okay to take one, but unfortunately, the computer won’t stop the clock.

You will be able to obtain your certification when you receive your passing scores, which you will be able to get within 7 weeks of taking your test.
