Wal-Mart associates who have been with the company for a year can apply for a $2,000 Wal-Mart Associate Scholarship. An SAT score of at least 800 or ACT score of 18 is a prerequisite; recipients must demonstrate financial need. Higher Reach Scholarships of $2,000 are also offered to exceptional older associates who demonstrate financial need.

Every year, Target Corporation administers 600 scholarships of $1,000 each, as well as a single $25,000 scholarship. These funds are based upon leadership ability and volunteerism.
