The free SSAT Reading Comprehension practice test is specifically designed to ensure that the test-taker is knowledgeable about the SSAT and is able to know what to expect when it is time to take the Reading Comprehension portion of the SSAT.
The Reading Comprehension portion will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions that will address four main topics. These topics are as follows:
- Literary Fiction
- Humanities, such as biographies, art, and poetry
- Science, such as anthropology, astronomy, and medicine
- Social Studies, such as History, Sociology, and Economics
The test-taker will be asked questions related to recognizing the main idea of a passage, locating details, making inferences, deriving the meaning of a word or phrase from its context, and other similar questions.
Due to our foreknowledge of the domains of this test, we have ensured that the SSAT Reading Comprehension practice test will cover these topics thoroughly. When taking this portion of the SSAT, you will have 40 minutes in total to complete the 40 questions.
