The National Evaluation Series tests, or NES tests, are a battery of tests designed to ensure that prospective teachers are knowledgeable, and adequately prepared to teach in their preferred fields. The NES Essential Academic Skills: Reading practice test will assist you in passing the NES Essential Academic Skills: Reading test.
The NES Essential Academic Skills: Reading test will be a 45 multiple-choice question test that will cover five topics. These topics are as follows: Understanding the meaning of words and phrases; Understanding the main idea and supporting details in written material; Understanding a writer’s purpose and audience, point of view, and intended meaning; Use of critical reasoning skills to evaluate written material; as well as Understanding the organization of information in written and graphic forms. There will be a one hour time limit for this subtest.
