This is true for students of all ability levels, though the means of teaching them these skills may vary in terms of the skills educators will need. If you plan to teach social studies, language arts, and reading to students with special needs, you will need to hone a more specialized skill set.

In Georgia, all aspiring educators will have to earn a passing score on the GACE (Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators) exam relevant to their field.
In your case, this will be the GACE Special Education Reading, English Language Arts, and Social Studies exam.
By taking this exam, you will prove you have all the skills required to help your students as thoroughly as you can.
