What Is AEPA?
The Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments (AEPA) are a series of exams developed by the Arizona Department of Education and administered by the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson. These exams are designed to determine whether an individual has the knowledge and skills necessary to be an entry-level educator in the Arizona public school system.
The AEPA program includes both custom-developed Arizona exams and National Evaluation Series (NES) tests. Together, the program covers a wide range of subject areas and professional roles within the education system. Passing the required AEPA/NES exams is a key step toward earning your Arizona educator certification.
